This is a first for me. I was able to break off my first crookneck squash this morning, and another should be ready in the next couple of days.
I know this is no biggie for many out there, but it is for me. Not only because our backyard consists of a 20'x8' cement slab and everything we grow has to be in containers, but I had attempted a squash plant a few years ago and lets just say it got thrown away before the plant produced any fruit when the baby squash bugs invaded. So far, no squash bugs, just squash and I am enjoying the moment.
More firsts are coming today. We are going to get our first 3D ultrasound (and hopefully) find out for the first time what to expect in November.

just great news
This, that I'm about to write, is one of those great moments. When you take in that deep breath that fills you up, and when released, gives a satisfying, refreshing feeling to your body and mind.
Skye had a follow up appointment for her eye problems (i.e. Strabismus, or lazy eye). This battle began in October of 2009. We have been to the eye doctor more times in a year and a half than I care to count. We've patched, dilated, and watched this left eye of Skye's strengthen, and without surgery, grow strong!
The doctor said that the lazy eye no longer seemed to be a problem at this time, that her glasses are working, and we don't have to go back for 6 months! Six months!!!! After that, we could possibly go every year! Wooo hooooo!
This is a small step for Skye but giant leap for oliverkind! :) Over the moon with happiness!

just eight
Skye, blowing out her eight candles. I know what I would wish for...it would be for her.
I wonder what she wished for.
just blogging
Never done this before, ironically, never thought that I would. Never. A word I should know by now, that one should "never" say; (whatever you do again!)
However, I have officially been in my second trimester for almost 4 weeks, and my hormones are all over the place. Hormones. Not to be trusted.
To be honest, there is a particular reason for this blog...I'm just not going to tell. Especially since I will probably be the only one following it.
